Close to Home™

Summa Associates (now Choice4Care®) created the Close to Home network. This network allows parents access to a wide network of high quality, convenient, and registered home child cares. Close to Home offers working parents quality child care that fits their working schedules of non-traditional hours, extended hours, as well as before- and after-school care plus additional infant and toddler care.

Close to Home caregivers are carefully screened and given many opportunities for specialized training.  Additionally, caregivers are supported through resource libraries, mentor support, and frequent home visits.

Close to Home is a family child care business initiative, originally created over a decade ago in Arizona, designed to meet parents needs for affordable, quality, family home child care. Close to Home has been recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor as a "model program for resolving multiple child care problems".

Close to Homecan be offered to parents through the support of a group of employers or an individual company and easily expanded to various locations. A sponsoring employer's funds allow Summa (Choice4Care®) to recruit and train home caregivers in the location of the organization, and the surrounding geographic area, that accommodates non-traditional work schedules and extended hours.
